Journey towards Carbon Neutrality

At Habitat Zero, we have made a commitment to become a carbon neutral business by 2030.

Our parent company, Habitat First Group, has already invested in a fleet of electric buggies for use by the housekeeping team, as well as adding the Jaguar I-Pace to offer sales tours of the estate. Within the next few years, they will also be looking to offer an electric minibus and taxi to residents and guests staying at both Silverlake (Dorset) and Lower Mill Estate (Cotswolds).

We provide electric vehicle charging points at both of our estates, for anyone that has already taken the step towards reducing their own carbon footprint, by changing to a hybrid or fully electric vehicle.

Whilst electric and hybrid options are becoming more readily available across the market, we are mindful that this might not be a suitable option for everybody, so we choose to offset our business mileage by supporting Trees for Cities; the only UK charity working at a national and international scale to improve lives by planting trees in cities. Working alongside communities, Trees for Cities actively improve urban areas – whether it’s revitalising forgotten spaces, creating healthier environments, or getting people excited about growing, foraging, and eating healthy food.
