Laylo at the Ballihoo Market

Boxed wines generate 90% less carbon than the equivalent wine in glass bottles.

Introducing Laylo. Independent winemakers, creating wines which are both environmentally sustainable and delicious.

Co-founders Laura Rosenberger and Laura Riches, formerly of Naked wines, are passionate about great tasting, beautiful wine with a conscious. Appealing to a more sustainable and diverse market, they are working to ensure that their packaging will be 100% recyclable.

Every year, thousands of kgs of unnecessary carbon is generated to produce and transport heavy glass bottles. Due to the design and shape, bottles cannot be tightly packed leading to large quantities of wasted space and plastic packing too. Shockingly, over 600 million bottles of wine are poured away every year, having not been consumed fast enough. The environment is carrying the burden of this.

Switching to a boxed wine, could save 20kg of CO2 emissions over the course of a year. Each box of Laylo wine contains the equivalent of three bottles.

With three varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Vino Rosso Vulcanico and Rosé Méditerranée now available in our Ballihoo Market; we are excited to be supporting Laylo’s commitment to reducing carbon.
